Sanku Hosts Ethiopian Delegation for Regional Learning Exchange

Hidden hunger isn’t just a household issue; it’s a policy issue. At Sanku, we know that strengthening fortification systems starts with strong institutions. We recently hosted a high-level Ethiopian delegation on a technical learning visit to regulatory bodies in Kenya and Tanzania including Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS), Tanzania Bureau of Standards (TBS), and Tanzania Food and Nutrition Centre (TNFC), driving policy dialogue and regional collaboration in food fortification.

Key wins include: A roadmap for Ethiopia to upgrade testing capacity and align with regional standards, an agreement to adopt zinc-based proxy testing for affordable, reliable monitoring and stronger lab-to-lab collaboration across the Eastern Africa region

Sanku’s technical support and equipment contributions were recognized as transformative in strengthening fortification systems, proof that when we advocate and collaborate, real change happens.

Special thanks to KEBS Managing Director Esther Ngari, TBS Director General Dr. Ashura Katunzi, and TFNC Managing Director Dr. Germana Leyna and their teams, for warmly hosting us.
