UK Parliamentarians Visit Sanku Operations in Tanzania
Last week, Sanku hosted a cross-party delegation of United Kingdom Parliamentarians at its operations in Tanzania. The visit was led by Sanku’s CEO and Co-Founder, Felix Brooks-church, and included tours of the organization’s Nutrient Premix Blending Factory and Flour Bag Factory.
During the visit, delegates observed how Sanku equips local millers with the tools and inputs required to fortify staple foods, enabling the delivery of essential micronutrients to families across Eastern Africa. The tour provided insight into Sanku’s end-to-end model, from premix production to mill-level fortification, and its role in strengthening local food systems.
The delegation visit was organized by United Against Malnutrition and Hunger and formed part of broader efforts to highlight practical solutions addressing the global malnutrition crisis. Discussions focused on the scale of hidden hunger, the importance of effective policy frameworks, and the role of public-private collaboration in expanding access to fortified foods.
Sanku used the opportunity to share lessons from its work across the region and to demonstrate how locally anchored, technology-enabled approaches can support national nutrition priorities. The visit underscored the role of political leadership, policy engagement, and cross-sector partnerships in advancing sustainable nutrition solutions.
