Sanku Wins Grand Prize in the 2026 Seeding The Future Global Food System Challenge

Sanku has been named the 2026 Grand Prize Winner of the Seeding The Future Global Food System Challenge, one of the world’s leading competitions recognizing innovations transforming the future of food.

Selected from innovators around the globe, Sanku received the US$250,000 Grand Prize for its work combating hidden hunger through technology-enabled food fortification.

Past winners include some of the most respected organizations in global food and nutrition, including HarvestPlus, Naandi Foundation, and WorldFish, making this recognition especially meaningful.

As part of the award, Sanku has been invited to the FAO World Food Forum in Rome this October, where the award ceremony will bring together global leaders, researchers, innovators, and policymakers working to shape the future of food systems.

Today, Sanku’s platform helps deliver better nutrition to more than 73 million people every day across Eastern Africa.

Sanku is grateful to the Seeding The Future Foundation, Welthungerhilfe (WHH), the distinguished judges, and everyone involved in the Global Food System Challenge for recognizing the potential of food fortification to help end hidden hunger at scale.

This recognition also belongs to the millers, government partners, donors, and supporters whose collaboration continues to make this impact possible. Together, we are proving that a future free from hidden hunger is within reach.
