Mark has an illustrious career spanning over 31 years which started in the downstream oil industry with Shell in Uganda where he served in several commercial capacities. After 11 years in the oil industry, Mark joined the Telecoms Industry in 2005 to work for Bharti Airtel International, again serving in various commercial leadership roles spanning the geographies of Uganda, Zambia and finally Kenya where he held the role of Airtel Group Business Director. After 9 years working in the telecoms industry, he left in August 2014 to join East African Breweries Ltd (EABL), a subsidiary of Diageo PLC, serving first as the Managing Director of EABLI, the international exports division of EABL based in Nairobi, Kenya, then two years later,  in July 2016, he was assigned to Uganda as the Managing Director of Uganda Breweries Limited, the Ugandan subsidiary of EABL. Three years later, in July 2019, Mark was assigned to EABL/Diageo’s subsidiary in Tanzania, Serengeti Breweries Ltd, as Managing Director   following which, almost four years later, in March 2023, he was assigned to the role of Managing Director for Kenya Breweries Ltd, the biggest subsidiary of the group, a role he held until October 2025. Mark, a distinguished C-Suite corporate executive, holds a Bachelor of Statistics degree from Makerere University in Uganda and a master’s in business administration degree from the Herriot Watt University, Edinburgh, UK. Mark is currently also the non-executive board Chairman of Equity bank in Uganda.  Outside work Mark has a passion for thought leadership, talent development and is an ardent sportsman.
